Disney Animal Kingdom Lodge

Disney Animal Kingdom Lodge is an African-themed deluxe resort at the Walt Disney World Resort. It opened on April 16, 2001. The resort is owned and operated by Walt Disney Parks and Resorts.
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is located in the Animal Kingdom Resort Area, adjacent to Disney's Animal Kingdom. It gives guests the opportunity to view grazing wildlife outside their rooms and public areas in the resort within proximity of the animals, conveying the feeling of being in an African savanna.

Disney Pop Century Resort

Disney's Pop Century Resort is a resort located at the Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, which opened on December 14, 2003. It is the fourth value-priced resort in the complex, following Disney's All-Star Movies, All-Star Music, and All-Star Sports Resorts in the 1990s. The resort is themed around 20th-century American pop culture. Original plans anticipated the creation of both the "Legendary Years" and the "Classic Years" to divide the property by the first and second halves of the century, respectively.

Gensler was appointed the lead design consultant for the project with a brief to design the Masterplan and Concept Design of the area. Location and orientation of the buildings were required to respect the development on Saadiyat Island.
The design was based on the idea of a very expressive facade and form to the buildings. The objective was to provide a proposal of the highest quality/safety standards within all the constraints including but not limited to that of the budget, limited space opportunities, accessibility etc. This then overlapped with architecture for a competition to design an exclusive urban resort-hotel at the end of the bay.

Three concept options were proposed: 'The Courtyards', 'The Lagoons, and 'Crystal Canyons'.

The program includes equestrian areas, zero-edge and negative-edge pool decks, and trail linking amenities. The unique and varied experiences together to offer a secluded destination reflecting and complimenting all of the terrains along the coastline.
